Role and Responsibilities

  • Develop commodity and supplier strategies for long-range business direction.
  • Lead materials planning and procurement team, driving strategy for future supplier selection and management of current suppliers.
  • Lead, coordinate and execute project plans to improve Supply Chain organization performance
  • Ensure inventory and quality management strategies are executed which support the Business Plan and Operating Objectives
  • Manage total costs which result in measurable price reductions, value, productivity improvements, and cost avoidances
  • Manage the supplier base including contract management, performance reviews, and development strategies
  • Lead supplier selection and partnering toward those with broad strategic capabilities, best support and competitive advantage
  • Provide Engineering and Manufacturing information related to supplier capabilities and long term technical direction
  • Participate as a contributing team member on NPI projects
  • Support NPI schedules and technical requirements with timely response for material, data and supplier communications
  • Understand and communicate to organization supply market trends and potential implications
  • Develop agreements that clearly identify the intent and responsibilities of both parties and assure compliance with all appropriate legal requirements

Education, Training and Skills

  • Bachelor degree in Supply Chain Management (SCM) or related field; MBA in SCM is a plus
  • 7 years of related experience, with at least 2 years as senior level sourcing and procurement agent, preferably in the electronics market
  • Direct knowledge of business processes such as logistics/reverse logistics, inventory management, import/export & customs, transportation, etc.
  • Proven success in developing master purchase agreements and contract negotiation
  • Demonstrated knowledge of supply quality management and process improvement
  • Knowledge of financial principles and analytical tools
  • Verbal and written communication, organization, problem solving and interpersonal skills are necessary
  • Understanding of legal requirement, domestic and international, import/export regulations as related to procurement activities
  • APICS certification preferred CPIM, CSCP, etc.
